Cloud backup: We present 4 options regarding cloud backup

Maybe doing a cloud backup of your company data is not really on your radar? Even if you think you will never need one, the IT threats of today have become so intelligent that it makes backup more relevant than ever. There is a huge diversity when it comes to cloud backup solutions and we hereby give you our word that you can find one that works for you.

This blog post describes some of the most common business solutions in Denmark.

Cloud Backup – but it’s just a safety copy, really!

Yup, that’s true. But what exactly is backed up? And more importantly: Where is a backup not just an option, but required? The thing is that backup can be tailored from down to singling out one CPU, mail data, servers and up to complete infrastructures. What matters is that you get a cloud backup that meets your requirements and secures the future of your company. The problem is that a lot of people don’t realise the importance of a backup until it is too late.

Office 365 backup

Before everyone started using Office 365, they knew they had backup, because exchange servers, or other kinds of mail servers, all had a built-in backup. If anything was lost, it could be restored from the backup.

Today, most companies use O365, because it offers easy access, efficiency and user friendly platform. The consequence is that there is a missing link, because a backup is no longer an integrated feature in O365. We all rely on Microsoft being on top of our data, but Microsoft has disclaimed all responsibility re. backup and placed it with their customers. So, in short: Having a backup of all O365 is more important than ever before.

Picture this: The planes you used to ride on had 2 engines in order to have engine 2 take over in case of engine failure. Now, without a backup of O365, most of us are on a plane that has only 1 engine. And would you get on a plane with only 1 engine?

We are happy to help you make a backup of O365.

NAS cloud backup

A lot of companies have a NAS around that provides fast access to their network data or works as an archive or even as a remote backup unit. But will someone keep in mind to do a backup of the NAS? Because moving your files to a NAS is just that: Moving – not replicating. If your files only exist in 1 location, you need a backup.

And one more thing: Hardware doesn’t live forever, so do your backup, before it is too late. Cloud backup is a very easy fix to that challenge and Cloud Object Storage is a solution that actually secures your data.

Server backup

We mention backup of servers either by you or by your hosting provider, because we know how complex IT is and, furthermore, that backup is a complicated process to get absolutely right. One of the reasons is that the types of data that you want to back up may vary a lot.

Let’s look at an example: The type of backup required for your regular file server could be very different from the type required for a financial server supporting databases, and you could be looking at using more than one kind of backup. With servers, having a backup procedure in place is crucial and that can be a big job. Using a cloud server will get you on the fast track to easily fixing the situation. Disaster Recovery

A different option would be to back up your complete IT environment or, more precisely, to make sure that your servers replicate to the cloud and that your entire IT environment has been set up in the replication environment. Our Disaster Recovery as a Service gets you running again after a breakdown either almost or fully without interruptions or changes.
